70s/80s Rewind: Disco, Soul & Funk: Odyssey
"Brand new to The Harlington, and the latest in our series of Rewind nights, this is the big one! Dust off your boogie shoes – it’s Disco, Soul and Funk all the way with 70s/80s Disco Rewind! It’s got all the elements you’ve come to expect from one of our 'Rewind' nights, a DJ til 1am, compere to keep the party going, prizes, and none other than chart topping 70s & 80s disco legends Odyssey playing live!
Odyssey quickly became a household name after their first record, ‘Native New Yorker’, was released in 1977 and immediately became a chart-topping hit. After that their success only grew, with their beautifully crafted catchy pop songs giving them universal appeal. Their name spread not only across the UK charts, but to every territory in Europe, the USA, and they also reach into the hot slots of the charts in the Middle and Far East. A truly international group, they are even stars in several eastern block countries such as Poland and Yugoslavia and have recorded songs in Yoruba, Xhosa, French, Spanish, Italian and a dialect called Yanyego, a mixture of African and Spanish which originated in Cuba.
Their long string of hits include the classic ‘Native New Yorker’, as well as ‘Don’t Tell Me Tell Her’, ‘If You’re Looking for a Way Out’, ‘Going Back to My Roots’, ‘Inside Out’ and 'Use It Up, Wear It Out'. Still as popular and talented as ever, Odyssey are bringing the funk to The Harlington this January, and are guaranteed to have you grooving all night long!
Expect all the usual “Rewind” fun and frolics, so grab your tickets while you can, dig out those outfits and strut your stuff. It’s party time again!"
