Join Plush for classical, contemporary and jazz performances in the magical setting of St John’s, Plush.
BBC New Generation artists Pavel Kolesnikov and Samson Tsoy launch the 2016 season in July with a monumental programme of Beethoven and Stravinsky piano music for solo and four hands.
The new ‘Encounters’ events bring together inspiring musicians to explore jazz and improvisations to tango and Indian tabla. Musicians include pianists Joanna MacGregor OBE and rising star Andrew McCormack, percussionist Adriano Adewale and virtuoso violinist Thomas Gould.
They celebrate the work of conductor and composer-in-residence Oliver Knussen over the August bank holiday, with an ensemble including soprano Claire Booth and pianist Tim Horton performing works by Schumann, Brahms and Mozart alongside contemporary pieces for ensemble and solo artists. Talks, Open Rehearsals, a Film screening and Cabaret show starring Zoë Martlew complement a full and very exciting weekend.
World renowned groups Trio Dali and the Doric String Quartet visit Plush for the first time, with Music Director Adrian Brendel joining the Doric for an inspired programme of Bartók, Adès and Schubert’s Quintet to complete the season.
