As part of its tenth anniversary celebration, Noise of Art is teaming up with Ipswich Borough Council to launch a series of annual Music and Art festival weekends in the beautiful surroundings of Holywells Park - nestled beside Ipswich’s rapidly regenerating waterfront. Hollywells Park is a natural site for the festival.
It received a grant of £2.8 million in 2012 from the Heritage Lottery Fund and Big Lottery Fund, to restore the Park’s heritage and improve its facilities to attract a wider audience to the Park. The festival will form part of Noise of Art’s UK wide tenth anniversary programme, which launched in Brixton on New Year’s Eve, and is intended to become an annual fixture on Ipswich’s cultural calendar.

The opening weekend will be on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 May and will feature a celebration of 50 years of the interaction between immersive art and music. Celebrating the legacy of 1966, the year the Beatles embraced electronic and psychedelic music, giving rise to clubs such as UFO and Arts Lab - which tore down the barriers between avant grade art and music.

With the line-up yet to be announced, the weekend will feature internationally renown live acts and DJs, as well as art installations, film and audio visual acts.

The events will start at lunch time and run into the evening at the park, with after parties being held at Pump and Grind and other venues.
