Cork's award winning music and arts festival, Indiependence, is back in August 2019 for another weekend of fantastic music and entertainment. With Biffy Clyro and Bastille announced as the first two headliners, this festival is not to be missed!

Since their inception in 2010, Bastille have steadily built up an ever-growing audience, resulting in their debut album 'Bad Blood' reaching the no.1 position in the UK album charts. The following years have certainly been a whrlwind for the band who comprise of frontman and lyricist, Dan Smith, keyboardist Kyle Simmons, bassist and guitarist Will Farquarson, and drummer Chris Wood. The band have played hundreds of shows across six continents, including the critically acclaimed ReOrchestrated tour, and as of 2018 have amassed 15 million single sales and 6 million album sales globally. Both Bad Blood and its follow-up, ‘Wild World’, reached No.1 in the UK and the top 10 in the US, and their music has been streamed a staggering 3.5 billion times. They’ve not gone without awards recognition either: after winning British Breakthrough Act at the BRITs, the band have earned Grammy, AMA and MTV Europe Awards nominations.

Biffy Clyro

Known for their anthemic alt-rock, Scotland's Biffy Clyro are a dynamic power trio marked by the throaty lead-vocal brogue of singer/guitarist Simon Neil. Emerging in the early 2000s, Biffy Clyro drew loyal fans with their grunge, hardcore, and prog-rock-influenced sound that found them combining hooky choruses with unusual song forms and galloping rhythmic meters.

Nothing But Thieves

Nothing But Thieves appearing at this event

Hailing from Southend-on-Sea in Essex, England, Nothing But Thieves make passionate guitar-based rock that balances indie rock artfulness with a pop sensibility. Formed in 2012, Nothing But Thieves feature singer Conor Mason, guitarist Joe Langridge-Brown, guitarist Dominic Craik, bassist Philip Blake, and drummer James Price.

ALL TVVINS

ALL TVVINS appearing at this event

ALL TVVINS (Pronounced Twins) are Dublin duo Conor Adams and Lar Kaye. The duo started making robotic interstellar synth-pop music together in the summer of 2013. Stemming from two heavyweight Irish acts, this is the kind of musical super-group collaboration fans might have envisioned.

Disciples

Electronic band Disciples make a current yet timeless sound, combining house and garage with a hearty dose of sunshine vibes. Disciples are three young South London friends: Natahn Duvall, Gavin Kool and Luke Mac, who have spent the last few years behind the scenes, working with a diverse range of artists, from Ms Dynamite, Afrojack, to Roses Gabor. Now stepping out of the shadows, and into the spotlight, this trio of multi-talented singer/songwriter/producer/performers, have come together to form the exciting new group Disciples. Writing, producing and even singing (Luke) on their own tracks, the individual strengths of the trio collide to make something bigger than the sum of their parts as they flirt across genres to spin something fresh from their roots in house.

The Undertones

Formed in Derry, Northern Ireland in 1975, The Undertones became renowned for combining lyrical invention and musical flair with intelligent simplicity. Their anthemic Teenage Kicks, much loved by John Peel, was one of the most influential songs of the post-punk era. Reformed in 1999 without the influential Feargal Sharkey, they are still pumping out their classics hits with some new material.
