"Bigger and better than ever, Immersed! 2021 will take place over 3 days across multiple virtual stages designed to create a truly immersive experience, all to raise money and awareness for Teenage Cancer Trust.

Our ‘stages’ – curated by students at the University of South Wales – are designed to showcase our vibrant live music scene and celebrate every corner of Cardiff’s musical culture. We are excited about our creative festival community and the power of music to bring people together in these trying times. Streamed across multiple digital platforms, the 2021 festival will be the most accessible and interactive event Immersed! has created. Commencing on Friday 29th January 2021 and running until Sunday 31st, Immersed! 2021 promises to deliver an inspiring and inclusive event available from the comfort of your living room.

The festival kicks off on Friday with a bang on the Unity stage, featuring a program that proudly delves into Cardiff’s vibrant and diverse underground urban scene. Sponsored by and filmed at the CULTVR Lab, Friday night includes explosive performances from Mace the Great (currently on heavy rotation at BBC Radio Six), Skunkadelic and Dirty Alex; this night promises to be filled with unforgettable high notes. As this ‘stage’ closes, the curtain opens on the ‘Let Us Dance’ event, which aims to do just that. Kicking off with an exclusive production masterclass from drum & bass supremo High Contrast (production credits include Adele, Kanye West and White Stripes), DJ Sets by Incurzion Audio and Obsidian stream until the early hours, bringing our viewers the much-needed late-night party that we’ve all been missing.

These events create an enthralling build up to our jam-packed Saturday, as we present our #saveourvenues stage running in tandem with The Mosh Pit stage. This night draws much needed attention to the #wemakeevents and #saveourvenues movement which support the current plight of the live music industry. With performances from Telgate, Mellt, DD Darillo, Clwb Fuzz, Delay & Emma Mae and support from local venues including Tramshed, CULTVR Lab, Clwb Ifor Bach and Fuel, Immersed! will highlight the struggle our industry faces in the shadow of Covid-19. The Mosh Pit, on the other hand, will demonstrate the vibrance of Cardiff’s heavy scene, with a heroic line-up that includes CHROMA, Nightlives & NO:IR and promises to draw Saturday’s antics to a high-powered close.

Our 2021 festival comes to an exciting finale on Sunday: viewers can expect an exclusive Libertino Records Takeover, where the label will be showcasing their roster of upcoming Welsh artists, including Immersed! alumni Bandicoot and Adwaith. This runs alongside an Immersed! special; the Sofa Sessions, where a handful of our most prized performers, including USW success stories Otto and Yasmine & The Euphoria, will deliver acoustic mini sets in a more intimate and personal setting than their fans have ever experienced, drawing this year’s festival to a unique and gracious close."
