Donington Historic Festival

In just two years the Donington Historic Festival has become firmly established as a major fixture on the international historic racing calendar, attracting many thousands of spectators, hundreds of world-class historic racing cars and huge numbers of classic car club displays.

In 2011 the first Festival exceeded all expectations, and the 2012 event followed suit, rivalling the very best international historic motorsport events, and inviting only the very finest race series and the highest-calibre cars and drivers, while maintaining `family-friendly' ticket prices, well below the usual cost of such top-quality historic motorsport weekends. Featuring racing cars from the 1920s up to the 1980s, the Festival has something for everyone, whether you're a fan of single-seaters, GT cars, sportscars, touring cars or Group C machines.

And the third Festival will build on that fantastic foundation and add a new dimension, as we celebrate one of the greatest racing drivers the sport has known. Ayrton Senna's Formula One career began in 1983 here at Donington Park, where he had his first-ever test in a Grand Prix car. And ten years later, Senna would stun the motor racing world with his extraordinary performance in the wet when Donington staged the European Grand Prix in 1993. With two such key moments in an iconic career happening at the circuit, it's only fitting that the 2013 Donington Historic Festival (Friday 3rd, Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th May 2013) pays tribute to these anniversaries and to this legendary driver.
