Looking to try a new festival and a new experience for summer 2015? Then look no further than Butefest, the most accessible and affordable island festival of the Summer!

Rightly proclaimed as one of Scotland’s most beautiful islands (the clue’s in the name), from 17-19 July the Isle of Bute will play host to ButeFest, a brand-new three-day festival of music, food and fun.

This accessible and hugely friendly family festival takes places a mere thirty-five miles as the crow flies from Glasgow. Butefest has endeavoured to compile a richly varied and superb line-up that includes both the contemporary and the classic of the music world and runs that gamut from rock to roots and folk to dance. For the families with kids there will be a family fun tent with lots to do and entertainment for all the little ButeFesters to enjoy. There will be loads of interactive entertainment throughout the site, including mobile rickshaw/cart storytelling, a treasure hunt, puppetry and even a bedtime storytelling session and parade...with even more to be announced in the lead-up to the festival.

Of course, as well as the mainstage attractions, ButeFest will have a great variety of foods for you to try. To celebrate Scotland’s Year of Food and Drink 2015 they'll have some of the best local producers alongside some new exotic flavours to titivate your taste buds. The bars will be stocked with some of Scotland’s best craft beers and ciders picked from the top microbreweries around and if lager is your tipple they still of course have loads of that and all at prices you’d expect to pay in your local pub.

It’s not just about the music, so keep an eye out for a host of other pop up activities and curious, even eccentric, walkabout entertainers displaying their talents around the site for your amusement and entertainment. These probably won’t be advertised in advance. After all, it is nice to have a few surprises!
