Art On The Hill

Art on the Hill is an annual Arts Trail taking place in the residential area around Victoria Park in South Bristol. It creates a lively atmosphere in this small community, offering a wide and exciting range of visual arts, craftwork, performance and workshops. Hundreds of visitors come from all over Bristol and beyond.

There are more than 50 venues in a small area about 1/2 mile across so it is walkable for those with average mobility. If you have limited mobility, some venues are very close together and many are be wheelchair accessible.

Visual arts and craftwork on display include painting, drawing, photography, printing, sculpture, ceramics, glasswork, jewellery, textiles and much more.

Many artists exhibit in their own homes while others show their work in public venues - pubs, churches and The Community Centre..Artists are usually present in their venue. They are often keen to discuss their work and may have artwork for sale at affordable prices.

Performing arts are an important part in the trail. Performances of music, dance and poetry from many different genres and traditions take place on Saturday afternoon and evening at the Community Centre. Performers and timings will be displayed on the day.

On Sunday afternoon, weather permitting, performances will be in the park. Our licence does not permit alcohol at the park event. There is an entertaining programme of participatory arts and music workshops for both adults and children in some community venues. No advance booking is needed - just turn up on the day and have fun.
