51st State Festival will once again celebrate the roots of House music, pulling together the threads of this hugely influential sound, exploring classic house, tech house, afro house, garage, disco, soul, dub, dancehall and more. Your favourite pioneers from Chicago, New York, Detroit, London and beyond will be joined by the trailblazers of today. Seven albums, a career spanning over 20 years and yet Crazy P remain stronger and more relevant than ever. Funny how the tides of time turn, and how the sounds of a typically British type of house and disco are now more du jour then ever before. Way before the rise in prominence of disco, house and soulful pop Crazy P have spearheaded the revival (and perpetuation) of these sounds since 1997.

He has not only DJ'd in the best clubs across the globes but also with fashion designers such as Chanel, JP Gaultier and Yves Saint-Laurent. His first album Sacrebleu sold more than 300,000 copies and since then he has gone on to to selling in excess of 500,000 with his 'A Night at the Playboy Mansion' and 'Disco Forever' collections.

Joey Negro is the most well known pseudonym of master British DJ, producer and remixer Dave Lee. Under a plethora of other monikers including Jakatta, Akabu, Doug Willis, Raven Maize, The Sunburst Band, Sessomatto and Z Factor, Dave was one of the first artists to incorporate disco samples in house music when he began his production career in 1990. Indeed, he was in the studio making credible and outstanding British House music when many luminaries around him were still busy getting to grips with their decks.

Producer, remixer and DJ from New York. His work is largely inspired by the Chicago house movement and often features the vocal breaks, piano and string riffs that are synonymous with the Def Mix collective, to which be belongs. Awarded Remixer of the year at the 1998 Grammy Awards he has worked with acts as big as Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey and the Spice Girls.

Norman Jay is unquestionably one of the most respected and popular DJs in the world today. Co-founder of the legendary Good Times Sound System and London dance music station KISS FM, Jay fostered the ‘Rare Groove’ scene pushing the boundaries of the UK’s emerging club culture.
Awarded an MBE for services to DJing and music, he recently compiled his most eclectic compilation to date, ‘Good Times Skank & Boogie’. He continues to tour around the UK, converting generations of clubbers to the cause, championing new sounds, yet never forgetting his musical roots, thus guaranteeing nothing but ‘Good Times’.
