Saxophonist Duncan Lamont Jnr and Vocalist Jenny Howe present “AND THE WINNER IS...”

Join them on a jazz journey through the Best Song Oscar winners from the 1930s to the 2000s, featuring the work of Barbara Streisand, John Barry, Randy Newman and many others.

From Fred Astaire to “La La Land”, a mixture of familiar and not so familiar songs will be performed by renowned vocalist Jenny Howe (vocal coach on ITV’s “The Voice”) with all musical arrangements from woodwind player Duncan Lamont Jnr.

Doors open at 7 pm with live music running from approximately 7.45 pm – 10.15 pm (with a 30 minute interval). Tables & Seating All reservations/bookings are guaranteed a seat. Seating will be in a cabaret-style format with small tables, or in a theatre-style in rows. Group bookings of 6 or more will be seated together wherever possible.

We encourage you to enjoy a home-made chicken or vegetarian 'Curry In The Box' available from 7 pm and served in the Members' Bar Dining area (£6.50). No pre-booking is required.

Duncan Lamont

Modern jazz saxophonist, Duncan Lamont worked (often as a featured soloist) with Henry Mancini, Robert Farnon, Benny Goodman, Gil Evans, Bill Holman, Nelson Riddle, Peggy Lee, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Bing Crosby, Count Basie, Fred Astaire, Benny Carter, Mel Torme, Paul McCartney and so many more. Sadly, on July 4th 2019, the Scottish jazz great died hours after playing a concert to celebrate his upcoming 88th birthday.

Sandra Lambert

Sandra Lambert appearing at this event

Jazz Pianist, Arranger, Bandleader. Sandra has performed and recorded with artists such as Bette Midler, Humphrey Lyttleton, Cilla Black, Paul O’Grady and The London Symphony Orchestra. A sought after accompanist, Sandra was Musical Director to Helen Shapiro throughout the 1990’s. She works extensively with her own Trio (bassist Mick Hutton and drummer Jeff Lardner) which is the house band at Jazz at the Ivy Room, accompanying visiting jazz artists each month.

One of the UK’s most versatile drummers, Jeff has recorded and toured with the world’s foremost musicians and singers including Van Morrison, Kylie Minogue, Natalie Cole, Bobby Womack, Gregory Porter, Joss Stone, Mick Hucknall, Georgie Fame, BBC Big Band and Mark Knopfler. He is endorsed by Paiste, Vic Firth & Remo.
