General Election Hustings

With just 56 days until polling day, all the political parties are preparing for one of the most important and intruiging elections for years. With such an important decision to make, it is crucial to know exactly what each party stands for before you put a cross in their box.

To help you make your decision, Farnham Maltings will host the hustings for the South West Surrey constituency on Friday 10 April with all the Parliamentary Candidates. These are Dr Susan Ryland (Green), Patrick Haverson (Liberal Democrat), Howard Kaye (Labour), RT Hon Jeremy Hunt MP (Conservative), Mark Webber (UKIP) and Dr Louise Irvine (National Health Action Party).

The hustings will give you the opportunity to hear what all the candidates are offering to best meet the needs of the local community and hear what the main political parties can do for you. There will also be the chance to send in your questions before the event to be answered by all the candidates during the hustings. These will be selected by an independent body to make sure a range of topics are covered on both a local and a national scale.

The event is free but tickets will be required. If you would like to ask a question at the general election hustings, please send them to our Press & Marketing Officer Jon Mileman before 6pm on the day of the hustings.

With the Prime Minister not committing to a live television debate, this could be one of the best opportunities to hear from a senior member of the Cabinet and hold them accountable for any policy made under the last government.
