Through The Hour Glass: Ros Parker
Hopscotch, hangovers, nunhood, narcotics, promiscuity and telepathic conversations with cats: this is a retrospective view of the life of a girl, with all its highs and lows, as she tries to find truth. Told by a Storyteller with a top hat and a wavering agenda, Through The Hourglass is a medley of personae and levels of consciousness. It follows The Girl as she grapples with extremes of human existence and asks how to make the right choices. Perhaps the understanding she seeks is, in fact, unattainable?
Creator and actress Ros Parker uses a unique blend of storytelling, stand-up, physical theatre and dance in this trippy tale of adventure.
The delicate flow of sand through an hourglass on the stage is a reminder of how transient our development is.
Through the Hourglass, which lasts for approximately 1 hour 30 minutes, is recommended for anyone over 16 – especially those who may have veered to the sharper edges of life.
Rosalind Parker trained at Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama and past credits include herself in Raw Cake (Outburst Theatre), Gwendolen in The Importance of Being Earnest (Spontaneous Productions) and D'Artagnan in The Three Musketeers (Spontaneous Productions) along with many more lead roles.
She also runs children's entertainment company, The Bedlam Bunch, and Outburst Theatre, taking drama workshops to schools and professional drama students.
