Nige (Keith Carter)

Nige (Keith Carter) appearing at this event

Failed singer/musician and doomed to a life of temping, Keith Carter is a professional character comedian, actor and writer. The two highlights of his showbiz career are having his one and only single played by John Peel and accidentally knocking George Martin into an ice sculpture whilst drunk. Carter is proficient on guitar, harmonica and piano and can’t believe he is getting away with not having a proper job. He is currently waiting for someone to tap him on the shoulder to tell him it’s all over. ‘A character comedian of rare skill.’ (The Guardian).

Ruth E Cockburn

A regular fixture at ‘Laughing Cows’ at Manchester’s legendary Frog & Bucket comedy venue and an established playwright with her work having being performed at numerous festivals from Edinburgh to Sydney. Ruth’s comedy is a perilously potent mix of spot-on, slightly surreal social commentary and brilliantly inventive, hummable and instantly hilarious songs. 'An intriguing personality' - Chortle. 'Plain and simple, she's just funny' - Terry Alderton.
