Anne-Sophie Mutter has for decades been revered as one of the world’s pre-eminent violinists, as respected for her invaluable education work and championing of new music as for her sparkling, searching performances.

Almost two decades ago she established a foundation to support emerging young string soloists early in their careers, and she is joined for her Festival concert by a hand-picked ensemble of the foundation’s exceptional players in two of the Baroque repertoire’s best-loved works: Bach’s Concerto for Two Violins, by turns energetic and elegant, and the vivid evocations of the natural world in Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons.

Mutter and her ensemble complete the programme with the first performance of a brand new Nonet, written specially for them by renowned composer and conductor André Previn.
