The world's largest Arts Festival has grown beyond a fringe, attracting huge stars and TV names. The downside of this is that the trappings of mainstream increasingly tarnish the beauty.
Come and see genuine comedy legends, alongside the most exciting freaks around. Celebrate chaos and the unexpected. Recreate the spirit of adventure that existed before the Alternative went Mainstream.
For £10.00 you can buy a membership that will allow you to see all the paid shows at the alternative Fringe for no extra cost. Paid shows are otherwise £5.00 each.
See heroesof.com/fringe/ for further information.
Please note that the artists appearing may be subject to change.

Scotland's madcap king of stand-up comedy has been performing since 1989. He has garnered a pile of awards, nominations and TV appearances but it is his stage shows that see him at his best. His childlike take on the world is blended with sacks of energy, spoonfuls of improvisation and jumps of the imagination. The results are hilarious, crazy shows where even Phil doesn't know what's going to happen next!
Phil Kay tour dates
John Robertson is a high-octane cult leader with wild eyes and a thunderous voice. A stand-up, columnist and force of nature, he’s the creator of the YouTube and Fringe Festival hit “The Dark Room” (4,000,000 hits, over 300 performances all around the world), he faked a seizure on reality TV, presents Videogame Nation on Challenge, has crowd-surfed on people who didn’t deserve it, told dirty jokes to cast members from Harry Potter and done it all off the top of his head.
“NOT TO BE MISSED” – The Guardian.
"If you like your comedy interactive, you’ll be hard-pressed to find better than John Robertson” (ThreeWeeks),
“His material is intelligent, edgy and smoothly-delivered” (The Age, Melbourne).
“A cult is born” (Bruce Dessau).
WINNER – ARGUS ANGEL, BRIGHTON FRINGE 2014.

You'll hear many descriptions of Nick Sun; from erratic, acidic, confrontational, surreal and subversive, but these all become seemingly pointless when you let him loose on a stage. His approach to comedy is unlike anything you're likely to have seen before. A man confused and jaded with the comedy world.
