'A thousand times more haunting than anything the New Acoustic Movement ever dreamed of' said the NME. Indeed Scottish musician James Yorkston's music is haunting, but there is something else in his music which lifts him above the average acoustic singer/songwriter. At times he sounds like a rat-pack crooner, the next like a Scottish balladeer, and just when he's got down to his quietest, most fragile moment he'll break into one of the loudest acoustic guitar intervals you're likely to hear. James Yorkston is diversity at it's best, with all the quality of tradition and excitement of the new.

Weaving images of childhood, womanhood, of instinct and inhibition simply with the breath from her lungs, a hardy martin guitar and a bandolim called Sue.

Broken Records are a seven piece band based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Formed in early 2006 as an antidote to work, they have gigged continuously since then, seeing several members come and go from the fold. It is in this vein that Broken Records started, as a loose amalgam of musicians who would play under one banner when not doing their own work.

When PBR heard Harry Harris playing in Leamington they couldn't believe the maturity of his song writing, the power of his voice and his ability to hold an audience with songs recalling the likes of Americana greats Iron & Wine - even more remarkably, all of this was said when he was just 17 years old.
