Richard Alston Dance Company

Richard Alston Dance Company returns with another Edinburgh-exclusive world premiere by Martin Lawrance, plus his intense and dramatic Stronghold. Also in this varied performance, two pieces by Richard Alston new to Edinburgh.

His latest work is inspired by the sonatas of Scarlatti, a composer hugely influenced by Spanish music. An Italian in Madrid continues Alston’s fascination with the fusion of different cultures and styles. Mazur is danced to Chopin mazurkas, played live by pianist Jason Ridgway.
