Acosta Danza

Following an exceptional career as a ballet star, international dance icon Carlos Acosta launches his brand new company – Acosta Danza in the UK. The company will perform in October 2017 as part of a UK tour, with Acosta himself making a guest appearance as part of the programme for the inaugural season.

Based in Havana, the company is made up entirely of the best dancers Cuba has to offer, trained in a variety of styles. The company’s No Limits ethos means they plan to embrace all forms of dance and will work with choreographers rarely seen outside of Cuba, as well as commissioning new works. They will also commission new works from international choreographers who will take inspiration from this iconic nation.

For their inaugural performances, they will perform new and existing works by Cuban choreographer Marianela Boán, Spanish dance-maker Goyo Montero, plus pieces by Sadler’s Wells Associate Artist Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and British choreographer Will Tuckett.
