Shanghai Young Philharmonic Orchestra, Shanghai City Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai City Young Symphony Orchestra

Shanghai Culture Week opens with a concert featuring three of the city’s top orchestras: Shanghai Young Philharmonic Orchestra, Shanghai City Symphony Orchestra and Shanghai City Young Symphony Orchestra, performing Eastern and Western classical music, including Grieg, Handel, Bizet and Tianhua.

In 2008, the SCSO initiated the Angel Friends Salon Children Autism Caring Program together with the Shanghai Charity Foundation helping children with autism escape isolation by learning music together. Graduates from that scheme now feature in its ensemble.

The concert will be led by one of China’s most distinguished conductors, Cao Peng.
