JS Bach, B Minor Mass
Ludus Baroque celebrates the start of the August festival season with JS Bach’s glorious B Minor Mass in Edinburgh.
Ludus Baroque’s annual performance of Bach’s magnificent B minor Mass, performed on period instruments, has become one of the staple events of the summer and a firm favourite in concertgoers’ Fringe diaries, described in recent years as ‘a very special evening of world-class music’ and ‘clearly ringed in many diaries as the…pews were packed for this sell-out performance’ (Bachtrack).
It returns to Edinburgh’s beautiful Canongate Kirk on 6 Aug 2015, the day before the launch of the Edinburgh International Festival, with a stellar line-up of British soloists: Emma Brain-Gabbott, Charmian Bedford, Catherine Backhouse, Ed Lyon, Lawrence White, Mary Bevan, Kitty Whately, Eleanor White, Anthony Gregory and David Shipley. Directed by Richard Neville-Towle.
