Edinburgh Festival Fringe: Naked In Alaska - The True Story Of Stripping In The Last Frontier
Naked in Alaska: The True Story of Stripping in the Last Frontier is the hit American solo bio-play written and performed by Valerie Hager. The play is based on Hager's own life experiences as an exotic dancer shimmying her way across various cities from Mexico to the far reaches of Alaska. The autobiographical solo show follows the gripping adventures of the struggling young Hager who dreams of life on the stage but who, instead, spends a decade entangled in the seedy world of stripping. It is unapologetic, poignant, funny and very real.
Told with live pole dancing, and over a dozen characters, all played by Hager, Naked in Alaska is a fearless look at the objects we make of ourselves to fit in and the buried truths we must face to have a chance of coming home.
