Tales From Adriamus

Join the Adriamus Ensemble for some musical games and storytelling. See how their music adds to Anthony Browne’s Willy the Wimp stories. Meet Anthony himself and play some drawing games with him. Come ready to join in with this hour of musical fun.

The Adriamus Ensemble is a group of professional musicians specialising in creating musical events for children. Their performances include plenty of audience participation, which whilst being entertaining, is also informative. The emphasis is on the storytelling nature of music, and how it can touch on different emotions. To enhance the experience the group work in collaboration with the children’s writer and illustrator Anthony Browne (former Children’s Laureate).

In the finale Anthony narrates his book Willy the Wimp with musical accompaniment and projected images from the book. Willy the Wimp tells the story of a ‘wimpy’ chimp who builds himself up to face the world, only to find that he is the same person inside.
