Massenet Manon

For the fourth season OperaCoast brings to Eastbourne a flavour of wonderful operatic music and a message of the openness of this art to everyone who is willing to listen.

A team of upcoming singers from all over the UK and beyond come together for an intensive weekend opera course to explore one opera every year. Under the guidance of prominent opera professionals - music director Gregory Rose, stage director Christopher Cowell and pianist Nigel Foster – they prepare a collection of opera scenes that will be accompanied by an imaginative narrative designed to take the audience through the dramatic turns of Manon’s story.

The evening performance at the Birley Centre will be preceded by an afternoon talk at Towner Art Gallery where the historic and literary context of Manon will be explored.
