A Streetcar Named Desire
Set against a backdrop of a Trump victory, Tennessee Williams’ play is a powerful exploration of compassion and exploitation as Old America finds itself facing a meltdown in its values.
Men hate their new president as they seek to maintain their dominant role. Blanche arrives in New Orleans seeking a new start after a series of failed and abusive relationships. Her younger sister Stella welcomes her to their cramped apartment where she lives with her car mechanic, war-veteran husband Stanley. As the sexual tensions rise in the Kowalski household, something has to give. Buskers and some street life accompany the pre-show drinks in the Warren Atrium.
Please note this play contains scenes of domestic violence and abusive relationships.
