Formed in 1981 The Blow Monkeys achieved huge success in the mid-80s with their blend of R&B, Pop and Jazz with hits 'Digging Your Scene', ‘It Doesn't Have To Be This Way', 'Out With Her', and a tribute to American House music with their top 10 hit ‘Wait’ and the rousing Curtis Mayfield collaboration 'Celebrate (The Day After You)’ plus many more.
Splitting in 1990, lead vocalist-songwriter Dr. Robert went on to have a succesful solo career working with Paul Weller and Beth Orton amongst others.
The Blow Monkeys returned in 2008 and remain Dr. Robert Howard (vocals, guitar), Neville Henry (saxophone), Mick Anker (bass) and Tony Kiley (drums). Their latest album 'The Wild River' and accompanying single 'Crying For The Moon' have received widespread critical acclaim.
This is a rare chance to see this iconic band in the intimate surroundings of our venue.
