Catherine Hewitt studied French Literature and Art History at Royal Holloway, University of London and the Courtauld Institute of Art. Her proposal for The Mistress of Paris was awarded the runner-up’s prize in the 2012 Biographers’ Club Tony Lothian Competition for the best proposal by an uncommissioned, first-time biographer and for the first time ever in English, tells the forgotten story of Valtesse de la Bigne; a celebrated nineteenth-century Parisian courtesan – painted by Manet and inspiration to Emile Zola.

Joanne Limburg was born and grew up in London, at the northern end of the Jubilee Line, but now lives in Cambridge. Her latest non-poetry book is The Woman Who Thought Too Much, a memoir about OCD, anxiety and poetry. A Want of Kindness s a historical novel which re-imagines Queen Anne’s life from child princess in the glittering Restoration court, to Queen of England.

Geraldine Roberts lives in East London with her husband and two daughters. In 2010, she decided to follow her life-long passion for history and attained an MA with distinction from Queen Mary University of London. Her paper on Margaret Thatcher won the Harold Macmillan award in 2011. The Angel and the Cad is her first book.
