On 12 October 1997, the world of country music was rocked by the death of one of the greatest writers and performers to ever grace a stage with just a microphone and a guitar. John Denver was just 53 years old when his twin-engine plane plunged into the sea of the californian coast.

Wayne Denton as John Denver transports the audience back to a time of innocence and fun when country music filled the airwaves of every radio station around the globe.

A Celebration of John Denver consists of Wayne as John Denver and is also enhanced with live musicians and video footage throughout. The show traces the early and late music of Denver, including legendary hits like Country Roads, Annie’s Song, Grandma’s Father Bed and Leaving on a Jet Plane to name but a few.
