Oktoberfest
First held in 1810 to celebrate the wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig, today millions of people head to the German state of Bavaria each year to celebrate Oktoberfest.
Never ones to turn down a party, but without the time to travel to Germany ourselves - they’ve decided to bring the Oktoberfest experience to Dundee. So please give a big, warm wilkommen to Oktoberfest: The Union.
They’ll be transforming Level 4 of The Union into a traditional Bavarian beer hall complete with the longest tables, the biggest steins of beer, the most delicious German sausage and the band with the most oomph!
The Stadtkapelle Lochgelly Oompah Band is unique in Scotland. Not only do they perform traditional German drinking songs, they play oompah versions of pop music favourites - everything from by The Proclaimers’ ‘I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)’ to Calvin Harris’ ‘This Is What You Came For’.
So get ready for a night of games, dancing, singing and drinking. All the fun kicks-off at 9:00pm and they recommend you arrive early as space is very limited. If you’ve been clever enough to buy a Black Card you’ll be able to claim your tickets for free!
