The Swiss Family Orbison

Armed with the sweetest sounds from Dundee’s pop canon, The Swiss Family Orbison return to the live stage for the first time in over a decade with their classic line-up.

The band’s eponymous debut album from 1997 was championed on BBC Radio 1 by Steve Lamacq and Mark & Lard, while John Peel admitted it was the record he’d played most at home over that year’s festive period.

The set list draws heavily from that album, as well as offering a rare opportunity to hear songs from the band’s officially unreleased second album, Thick As Pop, which currently only exists in digital form in the furthest corners of the internet.

With links to Danny Wilson, Deacon Blue and Big Blue 72, The Swiss Family Orbison sit not only at the heart of Dundee’s music scene but are lost heroes of Scottish pop.

Kit Clark and Keith Matheson’s finely crafted songwriting, fired by chiming guitars and gorgeous vocal harmonies, has never sounded better!
