KidO

Directed by award-winning children’s theatre director Lu Kemp, with music by Glasgow-based composer Katy Lavinia Cooper, KidO tells the story of Major who is super-efficient and likes to keep his space neat and tidy.

When the chaotic and noisy Magpie arrives looking for a place to store some precious possessions, the two are on a collision course until a friend intervenes to help them live in perfect harmony.

Building on the phenomenal success of BabyO and SensoryO, the much loved productions for babies and toddlers, Scottish Opera developed KidO for a young audience of 3-4 year olds and their parents or carers, proving yet again that you are never too young to enjoy music.

The show demonstrates that you can make music out of anything – as long as you have a bit of imagination. KidO uses vocal and body percussion to build up words, tunes and beats that children can get involved with. It takes everyday household objects such as teacups and a bowl of fruit, injects some fun and makes the ordinary extraordinary.

Performers Frances Morrison-Allen, Stuart Semple and Adam Gilbert bring the 45 minute show to life.
