Cairn Chorus

Cairn Chorus, based in Moniaive, under the direction of Kate Howard, are known for their quirky and imaginative programme of often very challenging material.

The Christmas Concerts this year will be no exception and are based on the poems of Hugh McMillan, so will be guaranteed to include the occasional sheep song, or two, or three. His pamphlet, ‘Postcard from the Hedge’ and another, ‘Sheep penned’, along with many other successful works made him a worthy recipient of several bursaries from the Scottish Arts Council and Creative Scotland. His poetry has been anthologised and broadcast widely and he has read in events and poetry festivals worldwide. Hugh will be present to read some of his poems along with choir members.
