All My Sons by Arthur Miller

The night that Ann Deever returned to the street where she grew up to visit Chris Keller and his family, a tree in their backyard blows over in a storm. The tree was planted as a memorial to the older Keller son, Larry, a fighter pilot who was lost in World War II. The morning after the storm, family members and neighbours, including the patriarchal father Joe Keller, gather in the yard to reminisce and ultimately the talks turns to old times and of course, Larry. The thread holding the family together unravels revealing a hidden web of moral wrong and sinister crime. All My Sons gave Arthur Miller his first success on Broadway and led to worldwide fame and a glittering career. Miller, a Pulitzer-prize winner, is often cited as one of the greatest American dramatists of the twentieth century.
