Under Milk Wood Jazz Suite - 50th Anniversary Celebration
Since its release in 1965, the Under Milk Wood album has become one of the most famous pieces of music in British jazz, with such classic numbers as ‘Starless and Bible Black’, ‘No Good Boyo’, ‘I Lost My Step in Nantucket’ and the title track itself. Stan Tracey was inspired to compose the suite by Dylan Thomas’s writing, and sadly died in 2013.
The quartet, led by Stan’s son Clark, features sax legend Bobby Wellins who played on the original recording of Under Milk Wood, and Clark Tracey’s son Ben as narrator.
This concert has been rescheduled from May, when Clark could not play due to an injury.
