Ian Shaw

BBC Jazz award-winning Ian Shaw returns with his ace trio, showcasing his brand new release The Theory Of Joy (on Harmonia Mundi’s Jazz Village label), produced by his close friend, jazz singer Claire Martin.

This album, the 14th to his name, marks a departure for Ian as he has never previously made a recording in the pure pared down piano trio format. Tonight’s show will feature tracks from the album, all arranged by Ian, including new takes on songs by David Bowie, Michel Legrand, Lionel Bart, Mel Torme, Jacques Brel and Joni Mitchell, alongside three originals from Ian.
