Cecilia McDowall’s work can be heard on Saturday night. A Fancy of Folksongs is a suite of four imaginative arrangements and compliments Franz Schubert’s Magnificat, itself recalling the joyfully expressive music of the earlier composer, Joseph Haydn, from whose famous oratorio The Seasons, the choirs will perform Spring.
