Winner of the London Comedy Festival 2001 and star of Eve Ensler's hit show, The Vagina Monologues. Shazia is lifting the veil on the world of Muslim comedy.
She is well-known for her appearances on BBC's Have I Got News For You, Beautiful People, Muslim Driving School, and The Now Show and Last Comic Standing on NBC.
A practising Muslim, Shazia is known for her deadpan delivery on her observations of her religious world. She works internationally, recently completing a six month tour of England and the United States and has appeared on BBC’s Have I Got News For You, NBC’s Last Comic Standing and CBS’s 60 Minutes.
The only female Muslim stand-up comedian, she has come a long way since starting out in Birmingham in 2000 working as a science teacher and driving up and down the country for a booking for as little as £10.
'Wonderfully life enhancing... Her laconic one-liners represent something quite unique in modern comedy' (The Guardian).
'No one can resist - the room erupts' (Elle Magazine).
'Clever, ground-breaking and very funny' (Evening Standard)
'Had the place in stitches' (Independent)
'The Lenny Bruce of female stand-up' (Metro).
Shazia Mirza tour dates
A published author, radio presenter, close-up magician, comedy scriptwriter, film producer and fabulously funny stand-up. Oozing hilariously superficial charm like Hugh Grant's sleazy black sheep of a brother with one last chip at the roulette wheel, EJ's delicious ad-libs will have you guffawing at will.
'An instantly engaging host with a flair for ad-libbing' (City Life)
'It was most impressive how effortlessly he commanded the crowd courtesy of some cracking gags, superb comic songs and old school onstage poise' (What's On).
Elliot J Huntley tour dates
Do you know how to safely operate a butter knife? Do you know how to minimise injury from an unsupervised fork? Do you have "spoon-Sense"? Health & Safety really has gone mad courtesy of comedy character Ian Crawford, an adviser from the Steel & Cutlery Manufacturers Association. What he has to share is deadly serious and you'd be forking mad to miss him.
"Delightfully daft... I giggled all the way through" - ComedyScene.
Curve Comedy Competition Winner, Dave's Leicester Comedy Festival.
Ian Crawford tour dates
Clad in a sartorially edifying manner, like a dapper and dandy funeral director, Anthony cuts a unique on-stage presence with humour blacker than a raven that's slammed it's claw in a coffin lid.
And not the merest hint of profanity.
The overall effect is both perversely hypnotic and wholly original, leaving the audience zealously hanging on to every syllable like turncoat lemmings on a rockface.
Jongleurs / Metro Stand And Deliver Award winner and former BBC New Comedy Award Runner-up, he is a regular contributor to Radio 2's The Arthur Smith Lectures.
As seen on The Stand Up Show and Phoenix Nights.
'Dark quips and relentlessly witty audience-goading ad-libbing from a compelling host' (City Life)
'Hilarious ad-libs and wicked one-liners from an infectiously funny performer (The List).
