Kenton Cool

Kenton's obsession with climbing developed at school, in the Scouts and was furthered at the University of Leeds.

In 1996 he suffered a fall from a rock face in North Wales and shattered both heel bones and was told he’d never walk unaided again.

After almost a year of rehabilitation Kenton started to climb extensively all over the world - establishing new routes and first ascents on peaks in Alaska, France, India, Pakistan and Nepal, receiving a nominaton for the Piolet d’Or – mountaineering’s Oscar.

He now has a staggering 12 summits of Everest to his name. In recent years the Olympic Games Pledge and the Everest Triple Crown – Everst, Nuptse and Lhotse - a feat previously thought impossible, have cemented Kenton's position as one of Britain's most high-profile and celebrated climbers.

Kenton is the only Briton to have skied down two 8000- meter peaks and in 2009 he guided Sir Ranulph Fiennes to the summit of Everest, helping raise over £3 million for charity.
