Danny Schmidt

Singer-songwriter Danny Schmidt is based in Austin, Texas, where he lives with his wife, fellow musician, and singer-songwriter Carrie Elkin. In 1999, he released his first album, and quickly moving forward to 2018 he released a single “Standard Deviation” as a pre-cursor to his tenth album release.

Named in the Chicago Tribune's list of the "50 Most Significant Songwriters in the Last 50 Years," singer/songwriter Danny has amassed a cult following for his poetic, poignant lyrics. With a craftsmanship and emotional depth drawing comparisons to Leonard Cohen and Townes Van Zandt, and with fantastical narratives reminiscent of Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Salman Rushdie, he is considered a preeminent writer.

He has toured up and down the east and west coasts, as well as in Alaska, the UK, The Netherlands, France, and Italy. He regularly tours with his wife, and this visit to the UK is as a solo performer.
