This concert offers two superb string players and bounds across the centuries. At its heart are two of the great ‘B’s of classical music: Barto?k’s Duos are almost pure folk music and contrast brilliantly with Bach’s two-part Inventions. They’re framed by Mozart’s gorgeous duo on one side and Halvorsen’s virtuoso arrangement of Handel’s Passacaglia. It starts innocently enough, but within two minutes it has turned into a spectacular firecracker!
