In 1994, Warwick Arts Centre saw the creation of Richard Alston’s new Company. Now, after many successful years, Richard Alston Dance Company will close next Spring, but not before they go out with colours flying on their Final Edition Tour, with a celebration of this company’s unflagging creativity. With two brand new works by Alston and Martin Lawrance, and also key works revived from the company’s history, this is a richly diverse mix of dance and music.
The programme includes the following pieces: Red Run, Voices and Light Foot Steps, A Far Cry and Isthmus.
The pieces take inspiration from all kinds of musical inspiration, from Voices and Light Foot Steps, Alston’s newest work which is set to Monteverdi’s sensuously expressive music, to Lawrance’s new dance A Far Cry, which is set to Elgar’s impassioned Introduction & Allegro. Red Run explores Heiner Goebbel’s powerful music, evoking a terrain of shadows across which dancers travel in nomadic clusters.
Don’t miss this tour because this is your final chance to see this company’s phenomenal work!
