Everyone loves Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade. But until you’ve heard it played live by a genuine Russian orchestra, you haven’t really heard it at all! The St Petersburg Symphony Orchestra is the real thing, and under its artistic director, Alexander Dmitriev, its impassioned strings, characterful woodwind and fiery brass section will make Rimsky-Korsakov’s musical tales of the beautiful Scheherazade and her jealous husband blaze with colour and emotion.
