'What’s going on? Why is everyone fighting? Why does everyone hate each other? Who the hell is Alexa? And why are there no women left with real eyebrows?'
Join Shazia, the award-winning British comedian and writer for her tour of Coconut. Strap in for a hilarious and uplifting joyride into the art of survival in a world of crocodiles, coconuts, solitary confinement and alpha males. Winner of the London Comedy Festival 2001 and star of Eve Ensler's hit show, The Vagina Monologues. Shazia is lifting the veil on the world of Muslim comedy. She is well-known for her appearances on BBC's Have I Got News For You, Beautiful People, Muslim Driving School, The Now Show, Last Comic Standing on NBC and CBS’s 60 Minutes. A practising Muslim, Shazia is known for her deadpan delivery on her observations of her religious world. She headlines all over the world and has performed solo tours in the US, Sweden, Denmark, France, India, Holland and Germany. The only female Muslim stand-up comedian, she has come a long way since starting out in Birmingham in 2000 working as a science teacher and driving up and down the country for a booking for as little as £10. 'Wonderfully life enhancing... Her laconic one-liners represent something quite unique in modern comedy' (The Guardian). 'No one can resist - the room erupts' (Elle Magazine). 'Clever, ground-breaking and very funny' (Evening Standard) 'The Lenny Bruce of female stand-up' (Metro).
