Now you might think that an evening of music isn’t your cup of tea, but the variety that this traditional trio packs into a performance will undoubtedly change your mind! Mark Bazeley, playing melodeon and concertina. and Jason Rice playing accordion, have been absorbing the unique Dartmoor style of playing since childhood, when they listened to and learned from their respective grandfathers, Bob Cann and Jack Rice. Rob Murch, who plays 5-sting banjo, also learnt at a young age, and has since become one of the finest exponents of his once popular but now rarely-heard style. Their concert performance includes traditional Dartmoor tunes as well as tunes from further afield, all played in their unique Dartmoor style. As well as music, they’ll throw in the odd song, banjo solos that have to be seen to be believed, and also some Dartmoor Step Dancing, danced on a fifteen-inch square board! They may also be joined by the fourth member of the team, Sailor Jan, a century-old dancing jig doll, who always steals the show. This is genuine cream of Devon, and promises a really special evening.
