We have so few concerts each year that any returning guest must be something special, and Anna certainly is! Since releasing her latest CD ‘A Celebration of Old England’ on the WildGoose label, with the professional publicity and distribution available with it, Anna has come to the notice of many more people, and the reviews have been, without exception, full of praise and enthusiasm. Born into a musical family, Anna was, by the age of ten, already accomplished on classical flute, and at twelve was playing oboe, clarinet and trumpet. Guitar, fiddle, sax and bowed psaltery followed, but it wasn’t until in her early twenties that she discovered the folk scene. Anna is a singer-songwriter, but that doesn’t tell you the half of it. Her songs are full of the countryside, the coast, people and stories, making her audience feel as much a part of it all as the places and people that she makes come alive through them. Added to that are the numerous instruments she plays with such skill, giving her an ability to choose the right instrument for each particular song. Her songs are “written with passion and perception…, capturing an audience’s thoughts and imagination.” Come and find out for yourself – you’ll be captivated as well.
