The Moonwatcher
A world of cotton mill chimneys, talking birds, Asian twists and tales. We are led through a surreal landscape to witness one family's fate on our fast spinning planet.
A mixed media show combining film, puppetry, mask, poetry and music, The Moonwatcher tells the global story of travel, love and the search for our own paths to the truth, with mother, daughter and the cosmos centre stage.
Written and Directed by Shamshad Khan and Bob Frith. Music by Arun Ghosh. The production is based on stories and research undertaken by Shamshad and Bob as part of the Different Moons project, in which they interviewed and recorded the stories of first generation immigrants to Rossendale from South Asia, specifically Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Suitable for ages 9 and over.
