Dorset based ImpAct Theatre has announced its first production for the 2017 season – the modern classic Dancing at Lughnasa by Brian Friel.

Set in 1930's rural Ireland, Dancing at Lughnasa is a semi-autobiographic memory play, narrated by an adult Michael recounting a particular summer of his childhood. Growing up with his mother and her four unmarried, close-knit sisters, the play explores their struggles from emotional discontent to poverty.

ImpAct is no stranger to staging thought-provoking dramas that demand exceptional performances from its actors. Dancing at Lughnasa will be hot on the heels of this autumn's Grief by Mike Leigh and follows acclaimed productions of The Thrill of Love, Untold Stories and My Wife and the King in recent years. A collective of local enthusiasts, ImpAct has a firm reputation for delivering exceptional productions of brilliant plays.
