The Roaring Fork Quintet was formed in early 2010 by five of the West of England’s leading wind players. The group take their name from a work by the distinguished American composer Eric Ewazen, his “Roaring Fork Wind Quintet”, which is a key work from their repertoire and which shares the same qualities that they seek to display in their playing – freshness, dynamism and accessibility. The five members of Roaring Fork thoroughly enjoy playing together as an ensemble, and hope that this enthusiasm comes across in their playing.
