Originally from Orkney but now based in Edinburgh - so that they can capitalise on their worldwide success more easily - this 4-piece 'folk group' bring originality and inventiveness to the stage, and to their recordings.
As a result they've won countless awards and on their first visit to the area they received a standing ovation for their Brook Hall show. This show has a tinge of Festive jollity about it.

Fara are four young female fiddlers/singers from Orkney whose music is starting to make waves. Amongst their ranks they boast Jeana Leslie, winner of the BBC Young Folk Award & Kristan Harvery, winner of Scottish Young Trad Musician. With vibrant and inventive arrangements, energetic fiddle and driving piano, Fara’s live show is an exciting one. With their mixture of self-penned and traditional tunes, as well as songs with rich four-part harmony vocals, the girls combine musical experiences and friendship to produce an exciting and individual sound, already to taking its rightful place in the Scottish folk scene.
