Single Spies
Chichester Festival Theatre and Birmingham Repertory Theatre present Single Spies.
By Alan Bennett
Directed by Rachel Kavanaugh
Following the success of The King’s Speech, Chichester Festival Theatre and Birmingham Repertory Theatre collaborate once again on Alan Bennett’s comedy masterpiece. Olivier-nominated Rachel Kavanaugh returns to Chichester to direct a star cast.
Bennett’s award-winning double-bill explores our fascination with Russian spies and royalty.
Chronicling the lives of two members of the notorious ‘Cambridge Five’ spy ring in the 1950s, Guy Burgess and Anthony Blunt, these amusing and compelling plays span the globe from Moscow to London.
With forgery, fraud and hilarious blunders, Single Spies gives us a glimpse into a life full of espionage, secret identities and even an interrogation by the Queen.
Performances on Friday February 12th at 7:30pm and Saturday February 13th at 2:30pm are both Audio Described.
