Flute Theatre

Up to 15 young people on the autism spectrum become the participants for each performance, sitting with seven actors in a circle on our stage. Their families or carers sit just behind. The actors encourage the participants to play sensory games and together they unravel Shakespeare’s story.

Afterwards everyone is invited for tea and biscuits with the cast. Originally created in 2017 at the Orange Tree Theatre in a co production with English Touring Theatre, the production has since toured internationally.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream is specifically for young people with autism and their families.
